s'mores bars

This recipe takes only 15 minutes to prepare and 35 minutes to bake. In under an hour, you’ll have over 20 s’mores bars. No one is judging if you decide to keep all of them for yourself!

In 5 easy steps:

  1. Mix the ingredients
  2. Flatten half of the dough onto the bottom of a pan
  3. Place chocolate bars on top of first layer of dough
  4. Spread marshmallow fluff on top of chocolate
  5. Roll out remaining dough and place on top of marshmallow, then bake!

If you are going camping and they don’t allow campfires during the hot season, these are the perfect s’more bars to bring on your camping trip to still have the taste of a sweet s’more and satisfy your craving.

Perhaps bring them to work and make your colleagues day a little extra sweeter!

You’ll be sure to want to save this recipe for those days when you want an easy dessert recipe to make. I hope you enjoy them!

S'mores Bars

This is as close as you can get to making a homemade s'more. A combo of gooey marshmallow, chocolate, and graham cracker is going to make you want s'more!
Prep Time 15 minutes
Cook Time 35 minutes
Course Dessert
Cuisine American
Servings 20 bars

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter softened
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 2 2/3 cup flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 2 cup graham cracker crumbs
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 King sized Hershey's chocolate bars
  • 7 oz marshmallow fluff

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Grease glass pan or cookie sheet. Place parchment paper on the pan so it is easy to peel the bars off later.
  • In one bowl, mix the flour, graham cracker crumbs, baking powder, and salt.
  • In a different bowl, add the butter, white sugar, and brown sugar. Using a mixer, combine the ingredients for about 2 minutes.
  • Add in the vanilla and eggs until mixed together.
  • Add in the dry ingredients (flour bowl) and mix until well incorporated.
  • Mold the dough into two balls.
  • Use one of the balls to spread out into a prepared pan on top of the parchment paper.
  • Cover the dough with the chocolate bars.
  • Add marshmallow fluff on top of the chocolate bars.
  • Roll out the second ball of dough on a floured surface using a rolling pin. Roll the dough out so it is thin about 1/4 inch. Cut into one inch wide strips to place on top of the marshmallow.
  • Place the strips of dough on top of the marshmallow fluff.
  • Cook for 35 minutes or until topping is golden.
  • Wait to cut bars until it is completely cool. Enjoy!

Notes

  • Don't place the dough directly onto a greased pan because the grease will make the bottom of the bars too soft. Be sure to place them on parchment paper
  • Remove the parchment paper before cutting the bars
  • You can use whatever kind of  chocolate bars you like- I couldn't decide if I was in a milk chocolate mood or a dark chocolate mood; hence, why I used both!
  • To save time when baking, buy pre-packaged graham cracker crumbs
  • The dough will harden a little more when they cool completely
  • What I wish I did- make the bottom of the bars thinner. Be aware of this when you initially flatten out the dough on the bottom of the pan
